MOVIE REVIEW: Easy! or Scialla! - Written and Directed by Francesco Bruni
It is an Italian one. It is comically epic and family made. It is simple but very adapting and absorbing.
As far as I counted, there are about thirteen characters with distinct role of participation. But I would like to highlight Luca and Bruno. Luca is the son, he is a typical fifteen year old teenager, who is feeling so cool that he can do old stuff already. He is a headache to her mother and in his school. But deep inside he is loving and fragile. Bruno is the father, a man who lost his way. A man who is clumsy and soft but when he started taking care of Luca he became father-figure like and protective. I want to get the idea from the title itself “Easy”. I have noticed that it is a symbol also because it is repetitively used in the dialogues. It is a father and son relationship. Yes. It is hard to be a father but if you look closer to the perspective of fatherhood and try to loosen up it will just be easy as tipsy. And to the children, it is not difficult to follow the rules. Just take it easy.
It is like why complicate things if you can simplify it? There are no problems if you have solutions. Worries are just a waste of time. Easy is suave and light. The conflict is not heavy that is why I like it. The feeling is overwhelming. The ending is not “bitin” or questionable. It is plain beautiful and precisely made.
